FluQuadri Vaccine (SH-2021) Vaccine (SH-2021) for intramuscular injection is an inactivated influenza vaccine. It is prepared from influenza viruses that are propagated on embryonated chicken eggs. The virus containing allantoic fluid is harvested and inactivated with formaldehyde. Influenza virus is concentrated and purified.
Then the virus is chemically disrupted using a non ionic surfactant. Split virus is further purified and suspended in sodium phosphate-buffered isotonic sodium chloride solution.
An additional step is used to further increase the concentration of HA. Antigens from four strains are produced separately and combined to make the quadrivalent formulation.
